Job Title: Early Years Teaching Assistant
Location: Middlesbrough
Salary: £90-£120 per day (dependent on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract Type: Full-Time / Flexible
A welcoming and supportive primary school in Middlesbrough is seeking a dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting young children during the early stages of their education and helping them develop the confidence and skills they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities- Supporting children within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
- Working with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Assisting with play based learning and educational activities
- Supporting communication, language and social development
- Promoting positive behaviour and classroom engagement
- Assisting with classroom preparation and daily routines
- Supporting children with additional needs where required
- Helping to create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment
- Ensuring a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection, meeting all safer recruitment checks including an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
- Previous experience working within an Early Years or Nursery setting
- Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Early Years or Teaching Assistance (desirable)
- Nurturing, patient, and enthusiastic
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Good understanding of the EYFS Framework
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
- Fully checkable work history
