Are you a caring, enthusiastic, and nurturing Early Years Practitioner who is passionate about supporting children's development during their most important learning years?
GSL Education are seeking dedicated Early Years Practitioners to join welcoming nursery and primary school settings across Newcastle upon Tyne from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference by helping young children grow in confidence, develop essential life skills, and build a love for learning.
We are looking for individuals who can create a warm, stimulating, and engaging environment where children feel safe, valued, and encouraged to explore the world around them. Your patience, creativity, and enthusiasm will play a vital role in supporting every child's early development.
About the RoleAs an Early Years Practitioner, you will work alongside teachers and nursery staff to support children through play-based learning and structured activities. You will encourage children's social, emotional, physical, and educational development while ensuring their wellbeing remains at the heart of everything you do.
This is a part-time, long-term opportunity starting in September 2026, and applicants must be available to work 5 days per week.
Key Responsibilities- Support children's learning and development through engaging activities
- Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment
- Encourage children's communication, creativity, and independence
- Support children's personal, social, and emotional development
- Observe, monitor, and record children's progress
- Assist with classroom and outdoor learning activities
- Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
- Promote positive behaviour and good learning habits
- Uphold safeguarding and health & safety policies at all times
- Experience working within an Early Years or nursery setting is desirable
- A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Passion for supporting children's early learning and development
- Ability to create engaging and inclusive learning experiences
- Reliable, professional, and committed attitude
- Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
- Available to work 5 days per week
- Competitive daily pay rates of £95 - £115 per day
