Join our nursery team

Are you a caring and enthusiastic early years practitioner who enjoys helping young children learn through play? Our Governing Board is seeking a qualified Level 3 EYFS Practitioner to join our team from January 2027.

We provide a welcoming, inclusive environment for children aged 0-5, where warm relationships and stimulating experiences help every child feel safe, develop confidence and enjoy learning. We are looking for someone who shares our high expectations and brings kindness, energy and a thoughtful approach to their work.

Your role
  • Plan and provide engaging, play-based experiences that reflect children's interests and support their learning across the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
  • Build secure relationships with children, supporting their wellbeing, independence and individual care needs.
  • Use observations and assessment to understand children's development and plan meaningful next steps.
  • Support communication and language through responsive interactions, stories, songs and play.
  • Adapt provision to include all children, including those with special educational needs and disabilities and those learning English as an additional language.
  • Work closely with parents, carers and colleagues, sharing information and celebrating children's progress.
  • Maintain a safe, stimulating environment and follow safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery procedures.
What we are looking for
  • A recognised Level 3 early years qualification suitable for this role.
  • Experience of working with young children in an early years or educational setting.
  • A sound understanding of child development and the EYFS, including the importance of learning through play.
  • A warm, patient and inclusive approach, with a commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children and families.
  • A reliable, flexible approach and a willingness to reflect on practice and develop professionally.
What we offer
  • A welcoming, supportive team that values your ideas and contribution.
  • The opportunity to make a lasting difference to children and their families.
  • Training and professional development to strengthen your practice and support your career.
  • Salary and benefits in line with Telford & Wrekin Council employment terms.
Safeguarding

Our federation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Appointment is subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks, including references and an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check with children's barred list information. Online searches will be undertaken for shortlisted candidates as part of our recruitment process.

We look forward to hearing from you.
