What skills and experience we're looking for

Extensive knowledge of the key areas of early language learning and able to communicate these clearly and confidently to educators and settings, while modelling a positive attitude to early language.

Completed professional development in Early Years Professional Development Programme (EYPDP) early language module.

Completed professional development in the Early Years Child Development Training (EYCDT) early language module.

Experience of working with children aged between 0 to 4 years old in an early childhood education context.

Experience working in, or with, a range of different childcare provider types (i.e.

PVIs, childminders, school based settings).

Experience of mentoring others or using a coaching model of support, demonstrating the ability to build and nurture professional relationships.

Experience of developing and implementing a delivery plan which addresses the specific needs of early years settings and staff with input from key stakeholders including local authorities across multiple areas.

Understands the importance of evidence-informed practice and able to identify evidence-informed approaches, training and resources

Understands the safeguarding requirements within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework

Able to deliver the key programme content with rigour whilst being responsive and sensitive to educators' needs and prior experiences What the school offers its staff Here is how the role will benefit you:

Tyneside Early Years Practice Hub, part of NEAT Academy Trust, is looking for an Early Years Learning Lead (Language) to play a central role in driving high-quality, evidence-informed practice across our region.

Backed by the Department for Education's Best Start in Life strategy, you will empower early years educators, coach setting teams, and build strong local networks to ensure every child gets the communication foundation they deserve.

As an Early Language Lead (ELL) based within our Hub, you will work closely with PSED and Early Maths Leads to deliver high-quality continuous professional development and provide targeted, subject-specific support to settings across Gateshead, Newcastle, and North Tyneside.

Early Years Stronger Practice Hubs provide advice, share good practice and offer evidence-based professional development for early years practitioners.

The Early Years Stronger Practice Hubs programme launched in November 2022 and is supported by the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) and the National Children's Bureau (NCB).
