Job Title: Early Career Teacher (ECT) - Secondary Schools
Location: Great Oakley, Corby
Salary: £145-£168.80 per day, dependent on school
Contract: Full-time / Part-time Long-term & Supply Opportunities

We have exciting opportunities for Early Career Teachers (ECTs) completing their PGCE or QTS in 2026 to join a range of supportive secondary schools acrossGreat Oakley, Corby from September 2026. These roles offer the opportunity to secure consistent, long term placements, with many schools providing opportunities to progress into permanent positions.

Day to day supply work is also available for those seeking flexibility, although the main focus is on longer term roles where you can settle into a school, build strong relationships and develop your teaching career.

As a Secondary ECT, you will deliver engaging, high quality lessons across your specialist subject at Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4) opportunities. You will take on full classroom responsibilities, support student progress and contribute positively to the wider school and department.

As an Early Career Teacher (ECT), your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons across your specialist subject
  • Teaching students across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 where relevant
  • Creating a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment
  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively
  • Assessing, monitoring and supporting student progress
  • Building positive relationships with students and staff
  • Contributing to departmental planning and wider school activities where required

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Hold or are completing UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in 2026
  • Are completing a PGCE or are Early Career Teachers (ECTs)
  • Have strong subject knowledge in their specialist subject
  • Demonstrate a confident classroom presence and strong communication skills
  • Are passionate about teaching and committed to supporting student progress
  • Are keen to secure a long term teaching position
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or are willing to obtain one
  • Can provide two professional references covering teacher training placements and/or recent employment
