Job Description
Overview

6 month rolling contract - Inside IR35 - Investment Banking

Responsibilities
  • Advanced level professional accountable for providing excellence as an eFIC Trading Quant Developer within Global markets. The roleholder will, for example:
  • Deliver the quartz Core roadmap
  • Define the next effort required by the continuing need to improve the platform
  • Define and deliver the monitoring tools of the platform so as to track the performance of the platform (in general and in real time)
  • Identify critical data among Global Markets and define clear principles around critical data management to ensure they are fully traceable and not corrupted along the Front-to-Finance chain
  • Build and promote a truly cross asset research and development framework
  • Work with management to draw up specifications for new projects and estimate the costs involved in their implementation
  • Continuously identifies, proposes and implements innovative or alternative ideas ahead of others to improve topics or solve issues or problems that are multidisciplinary or cross-organisational, to improve the customer journey or the organisation, to develop new businesses or thought models.
  • Actively promotes the market and Quantitative Development outside of the Bank to key stakeholders.
  • Makes sure the core platform release process is performed effectively.
  • Directs some projects within the department, such as exchange interactivity and on-boarding, responding to any issues or developments within relevant aspects of work.
  • Influences and supports members of the team by leading in decision making and approach where problems are more complex and require sophisticated analysis or experience. Acts as a point of escalation for more junior staff.
Knowledge, Skill and Experience
  • Professional qualification, Masters or PhD in computing science and expert knowledge in e-trading quantitative development within Global Markets.
  • Strong technical background in e-trading quantitative development, particularly programming experience in an industrial context, within Global Markets.
  • Proactively able to identify areas of development, improvement or ways to maximise results and takes initiative to implement relevant actions, in the short and long term.
  • Strong relationship management skills and an ability to work with individuals to ensure the delivery of set objectives.
  • Proven communication / relationship management skills.
  • Computer literate and a good understanding of relevant software used by the eFIC team at the relevant time. Expert knowledge of a computer language (Java) and analysis tool (Python).
