This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic individual, with experience of working with older people, who is an experienced driver and has a general knowledge of handyman duties. The successful candidate will join a small, committed team, in providing quality support to older individuals, visiting the service on a daily basis.

Whilst based within a day support setting, the post holder is responsible for safe transport of individuals to and from the service. The post holder is responsible for all safety checks and upkeep of vehicle and all associated equipment related, including tail-lift operations.
General internal/external handyman duties and safety checks are identified as consistent with the role. This may include grass cutting, routine internal cleaning schedules at low levels including window washing etc. There may be requirements for domestic level decoration and DIY repairs.
The role is part of an established care/support team, who provide an excellent standard of care to all older people who access the service.
The team work together to enable all who attend to maintain their individual lifestyles and always treat them with dignity and respect.
The role requires compassion, understanding of others and an ability to convey empathy.
Good communication skills are essential.
The role requires the ability to work as part of a team or working on one's own initiative.
This post requires Protection of Vulnerable Group (PVG) Membership in relation to working with adults.
This post is temporary until 30 November 2026.

This is a temporary post which may be filled on a secondment basis by an employee wishing to gain experience/care development and will be at the discretion of the employee's Third Tier Manager.
