Here at GXO, we are currently recruiting for a Driver Trainer to join our team in Greenford, supporting our customer, Waitrose. As a Driver Trainer leading the training for our van drivers, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality driver training and coaching, helping improve safety, compliance and performance across our transport operation. Working closely with site and central teams, you'll ensure drivers meet the highest standards while supporting GXO's commitment to Safety First and continuous improvement.

This is a full-time, permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week. The operation runs between 06:00 to 23:00, 7 days per week, so shifts will need to be scheduled within those hours to ensure all driver training and inductions are actioned accordingly.

Pay, benefits and more:

We're looking to offer a salary of up to £39,007.00 per annum, and 33 days annual leave (including bank holidays). Your benefits package includes a company sponsored pension scheme, life assurance and access to our benefits platform, including retail discounts.

What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Deliver targeted driver training to individuals identified through collision trends, telematics insights, or escalation by Driver Assessors and site leadership
  • Coach drivers using a supportive, professional approach that builds skill, accountability and confidence
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new training syllabuses, materials and initiatives focused on driver safety, technical competence and efficiency
  • Act as a trusted subject-matter expert, supporting leaders to raise driving standards across their operation

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Full UK driving licence with no Category B vehicle restrictions and no more than six penalty points
  • Proven experience delivering driver training within a live transport operation
  • Commitment to maintaining professional competence through continued professional development (CPD)
  • Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) qualification and experience delivering ADI requirements is advantageous
