Community Transport Driver
Location: Various locations across Leicestershire Pay:£13.06 per hour Hours: School Runs AM and PM Contract: Permanent / Part-Time / Casual

Are you a reliable and compassionate driver with a passion for helping others? We are seeking dedicated Community Transport Drivers to provide safe, comfortable and dignified transport services for County Council Service Users across Leicestershire.
This is more than just a driving role. You'll play a vital part in supporting vulnerable adults and service users, helping them access essential services and maintain their independence.
Essential Requirements
Full UK Driving Licence with D1 entitlement Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check A caring, professional and customer-focused approach Ability to work independently and follow scheduled routes
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport County Council Service Users in accordance with road traffic legislation, County Council policies and best practice.
- Assist passengers on and off vehicles, including wheelchair users and those requiring additional support.
- Secure passengers and wheelchairs using approved safety restraints.
- Complete daily and weekly vehicle checks, reporting any defects promptly.
- Maintain vehicles to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Follow planned routes and schedules accurately, ensuring all relevant records and documentation are completed.
- Promote the safety, wellbeing, dignity and independence of passengers at all times.
- Assist with loading, unloading and transporting equipment and miscellaneous goods when required.
- Respond appropriately to incidents, accidents and emergencies in line with Council procedures.
- Drive vehicles to and from maintenance depots for servicing and repairs when required.

- A valid D1 licence entitlement.

- Strong awareness of health, safety and safeguarding responsibilities.
- Reliability, professionalism and flexibility.
- The ability to maintain accurate records and follow procedures.
