Drainage Engineer Van Pack

We are excited to announce a major contract win with Southern Water! We are recruiting Drainage Engineers to work in 2-person teams across Sussex. This is a great opportunity to start a new career with Lanes Group.

This role requires working flexible hours, including weekends and on-call duties. Full training, PPE, and equipment will be provided to ensure all drainage engineers can perform their duties to high standards, regardless of background or experience.

Position Details
  • Position: Van Pack Drainage Engineer
  • Location: Tonbridge Depot, Kent
  • Type: Permanent, full-time
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 45 hours/week
  • Salary: £30,500 per annum

Role Responsibilities
  • Travel to residential sites in a van, operating high-pressure water jetting equipment for drain restoration
  • Maintain and clear drainage systems
  • Accurately record job reports using provided equipment
  • Run diagnostics and perform repairs on drains
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Follow health and safety practices during work
  • Keep vehicle stock replenished
  • Adhere to health and safety responsibilities, including PPE and site safety
  • Utilize VISTEC and Salesforce platforms
  • Work independently in all weather conditions with proper PPE and safety systems
  • Perform site risk assessments and liaise with clients on progress
  • Support colleagues as needed
  • Inspect tools and equipment regularly for defects
  • Report malfunctions and conduct risk assessments responsibly
  • Follow all company policies and perform other duties as assigned

Ideal candidates enjoy outdoor work, delivering excellent customer service, and working in a dynamic environment. Experience with high-pressure jetting is advantageous but not essential. Drainage qualifications such as NRSWA or Confined Spaces are a plus. A full UK driver's license is required.
