About this jobDue to our continued growth and expansion, we are looking to recruit an assistant installer to our team in Stockport. As the Lead Installer, you will work on designated projects alongside an assistant installer, providing guidance and support in the installation of our products on a regional basis with occasional overnight stays.
Key Responsibilities- Clear and concise communication with clients and other contractors on site.
- Co ordination and leadership on site ensuring adherence to company policies, procedures, risk assessment, process, asbestos review, and site rules.
- Main point of communication between the installation team and the installation manager.
- Installation of aluminium security doors and screens, including removal of original frames, to agreed company standards and within time limits as per company procedures.
- Preparation of apertures to accept the new units.
- Fixing of new units, ensuring correct location, level, including fitting of glazing, GRP panels, letter boxes, etc.
- Sealing of new units to ensure they are weather tight.
- Operating various hand tools and power tools.
- Completion of repairs, snags, and maintenance.
- Completion of installation paperwork, handovers, completion packs, etc. using company IAuditor software.
- Providing advice and guidance on installation issues based on design and offering effective solutions to the technical manager and installation manager.
- Providing feedback to the installation manager regarding the installation process and site requirements.
- Completing weekly van and tool safety checks with recording on IAuditor, undertaking action to resolve any identified issues.
- Monitoring of installation consumables and tools and reporting deficiency to the Installation manager, supervisors, and stock controller.
- Undertake restocking as required.
- Loading and unloading of company vehicle with frames and required components.
- First aid provision on site (training will be provided).
- Coordinating installation waste management, including general waste, scrap items, and consumables and ensuring allocation to the correct recycling skips at the regional office.
- Always ensuring clean and organised work site.
- Key holder.
- Driving company vehicles in a safe and appropriate manner.
- Responsible for a company vehicle, including issued tools and parts.
- Occasional overnight stays (with expenses).
The successful candidate will need to meet the following criteria:

- NVQ Level 2 or 3 Fenestration Installation or similar.
- Supervisor qualification (NVQ, SMSTS or similar).
- Experience/qualifications in fenestration, carpentry, joinery, site work, basic building experience.
- CSCS or similar (Skilled Blue or Gold card) / able to gain CSCS card; skilled worker as minimum.

Full time role working hours are 08:00-16:45 Monday to Friday including a lunch break (40 hours per week). Hours need to be flexible to accommodate client needs. Over time at an enhanced rate, where required, to complete installations.
Rate of pay £15.75-17.00 per hour depending on experience. Working away expenses, annual pay reviews and discretionary bonus. SSP. Subject to a 3 month probationary period. Uniform and tools provided. Proud member of the Disability Confident employer scheme.
