About the roleThe primary objective of this role is to position IPPF and its Member Associations as strategic partners for European institutional donors, ensuring long-term financial sustainability for SRHR programming. The role-holder will lead in 1-2 donor engagement efforts, will support other donor leads, and develop high-quality proposals that align with IPPF's priorities and donor requirements.
Beyond financial mobilization, the role will enhance IPPF's visibility among government officials, civil servants, and parliamentarians and will support the development of strategic input on SRHR policy and funding trends. Additionally, they will ensure effective oversight of donor-funded programming and contracts, maintaining compliance, mitigating risks. Through these efforts, the role directly contributes to expanding IPPF's global impact, particularly in low- and middle-income countries where SRHR funding is most needed.
Responsibilities- Strengthen Donor Engagement by developing and maintaining relationships with 2-3 key European donor governments, ensuring alignment with IPPF's priorities to sustain and expand funding opportunities.
- Support DRF team efforts with donor engagement strategies in Europe.
- Develop a Robust and Diversified Funding Pipeline that supports IPPF's Strategy 2028, identifying new institutional funding opportunities to ensure long-term financial sustainability.
- Enhance IPPF's Visibility and Credibility by positioning the organization as a strategic SRHR partner, engaging with government officials, civil servants, and parliamentarians to influence funding and policy priorities.
- Support Proposal Development and Grant Acquisition, ensuring the submission of high-quality, competitive proposals that align with donor priorities and IPPF's strategic objectives to maximize funding success.
- Oversee Contract and Risk Management by ensuring compliance with donor agreements, mitigating financial and operational risks, and supporting effective programme implementation.
- Build Capacity Across IPPF and Member Associations, providing training and support on donor engagement, proposal development, and financial governance, enhancing their ability to secure and manage institutional funding.
Expertise:
- Proven experience in securing funding from European institutional donors, with a deep understanding of funding mechanisms and donor priorities.
- Extensive background in the SRHR sector at a global level, with experience in programme funding, advocacy, and policy engagement.
- Strong knowledge of European donor government structures, including political landscapes, funding processes, and contractual obligations related to fraud prevention and safeguarding.
- Track record in leading strategic relationships with external stakeholders, forging new partnerships, and strengthening donor engagement.
- Ability to formulate IPPF's position on development cooperation strategies, particularly in SRHR and gender equality, ensuring alignment with global funding trends.

- Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to safeguarding in a local and international context.
- Demonstrates ability and willingness to work in a diverse, multicultural, multilingual, and intergenerational environment that is anti-racist and respectful of others.
- An intersectional (pro) feminist passionate about sexual reproductive health care rights + justice, including safe abortion.
- Supportive of people's rights regardless of sexuality or gender identity/expression and supportive of workers' rights and access to health care in sex work.
