East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust Domestic Cleaner

We are looking for a caring, compassionate individual to join our cleaning services team. This role is ideal for someone starting a career in the NHS or with experience in cleaning, offering training and development opportunities.

The Domestic/Station Cleaner will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of our Trust Head Quarters - Horizon Place, following a schedule, and may support other stations and fixed sites as required.

This is a physically demanding role involving reaching, crouching, moving between rooms, and moving items.

Main duties of the job
  • Position 1: 15 hours per week, Mon - Fri 06:00 - 09:00
  • Support cleaning services team to improve cleanliness standards and assurance across sites.
  • May work additional hours or overtime within the same hours or as offered.

Job responsibilities
  • Previous cleaning experience is advantageous.
  • Work with limited supervision.
  • Communicate verbally with others clearly and courteously.
  • Be polite, reliable and responsible.
  • Understand Health and Safety, COSHH and Risk Assessments.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and organisational policies.
  • Be prepared to undertake training and development.
Person specification Knowledge and Skills
  • Understanding of health and safety matters as they relate to cleaning duties.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Able to understand and follow written/verbal instructions and procedures.
  • Awareness of risk assessment.
  • Knowledge of COSHH.
  • Awareness of Infection Prevention and Control.
Experience
  • Experience of working without supervision.
  • Previous work experience as a domestic cleaner.
