- Join Medacs Healthcare as a PIP Functional Assessor / Disability Assessor Are you an NMC registered Nurse or HCPC registered Paramedic, Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist ready for a change from frontline clinical work, but keen to continue using your expertise?
As a PIP Functional Assessor / Disability Assessor at Medacs Healthcare, you'll complete Personal Independence Payment (PIP) functional assessments to understand how health conditions affect everyday life.
This is a non hands on clinical role centred on clinical reasoning, analysis and report writing.
The hybrid working model combines home working with time at one of our assessment centres, offering predictable hours, long term stability and a healthier work-life balance.
What you'll doConduct face to face and telephone PIP assessments in a professional and empathetic manner
Analyse medical evidence and clinical information
Produce accurate, detailed and evidence based written reports
Work to defined quality standards and clinical frameworks
Engage positively with feedback and development opportunities
Collaborate with clinical and administrative colleagues
Attend the assessment centre as required
Essential:
- Registered Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD), Physiotherapist, Paramedic or Occupational Therapist
- Active NMC or HCPC registration with no restrictions
- Minimum 1 year's UK clinical experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confident use of digital systems (35 WPM typing speed)
- Right to work in the UK (sponsorship not available)
Desirable:
- Experience in functional assessment or advisory roles
- Confidence in producing high quality written clinical reports

- Prefer minimal structure rather than clearly defined processes
- Don't enjoy detailed report writing or written clinical work
- Would find working mainly with digital systems frustrating
- Would be uncomfortable with re training for a different type of clinical role, which includes a comprehensive, supported training programme
- Would feel uncomfortable working in a role with targets and quality measures
