Role profile:We are seeking an experienced Director, Sustainable Research & Analytics to join the Sustainable Leadership team at FTSE Russell, a fully owned subsidiary of London Stock Exchange Group. The role reports directly to the Global Head of Sustainable. This is a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity, relevance and strategic value of the sustainable indices and index-based research, reporting and analysis for our clients. The team work closely with both internal stakeholders across FTSE Russell, wider LSEG and FTSE Russell's partners and key clients, including major asset owners, asset managers and investment banks in the creation of new index products. ROLE SUMMARY: Research & Analysis: Leading research and analysis on sustainable, climate and thematic data to support the integrity, evolution, and innovation of our sustainable index and analytics products Data Integration and management: Working closely with teams across FTSE Russell, including data and index management, to ensure we meet LSEG Data Governance and Model Standards. Leadership: Managing a team of data specialists and analysts across global locations, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration and innovation. Collaboration: Working with internal and external stakeholders, to produce client centric research, insights and analytics WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: Lead and inspire: Drive a product-led culture across direct team of data specialists and researchers, and as part of the wider Sustainable team Research and analysis : Conduct research on existing and new sustainable, climate and thematic data sets to support the integrity and evolution of existing indices, and development of new indices Data strategy: Review data methodologies/ methodology changes to ensure 'fit for purpose'; due diligence and recommend new/ alternative data sets and work closely with product managers and wider teams and stakeholders to support the implementation of any changes. Data Integration and management: Represent Sustainable Product within the Data Governance Forum, working closely with teams across FTSE Russell to ensure we meet LSEG Data Governance and Model Standards. Analytics and reporting: Develop and embed index-related analytics to support client insights (e.g. attribution) and regulatory requirements Client engagement : Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the SI index product offering, answer client queries regarding index data, prepare supporting materials and analysis, and supporting client understanding. Thought Leadership & marketing: Publish and speak on client-centric research, insights and analytics WHAT YOU'LL BRING: We are seeking an experienced, committed and enthusiastic individual with proven experience in climate index investment. People Leader Skills: Demonstrates inclusive leadership by building high-performing, collaborative teams and fostering a culture of trust, accountability, and growth. Execution & Organization: Excellent coordination and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize effectively, manage multiple projects under tight deadlines, and proactively identify and resolve issues. Quantitative and analytical skills: Deep knowledge of quantitative investment portfolio techniques, including portfolio simulation and construction approaches and risk and performance attribution. Extensive equity and/or fixed income investment analytics experience: 12+ years, preferably on buy or sell sides. Financial markets knowledge : Strong knowledge and understanding of global financial markets and products, encompassing Equities, Fixed Income, currencies, and exchange-traded products. Deep understanding of the investment process. Sustainable data skills: Experience with sustainable investment datasets, dataset providers, their particularities, as well as applicability to index construction. Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with clients and stakeholders, with strong written skills. Ability to influence strategy development and decision making. Collaboration & Influence: Strong ability to work cross-functionally in a matrixed, multi-site organization, influence key stakeholders, support colleagues, and take on new responsibilities as needed. Commercial Awareness: Ability to take a strategic approach to identifying and evaluating commercial opportunities. Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python, SQL and/or MATLAB is an advantage.
