YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Statistical Innovation Expert, you will:

  • Provide strategic statistical consultation and hands-on implementation of advanced methodologies to optimize clinical trial designs and data analytics;
  • Lead the development and application of innovative study designs, including adaptive and Bayesian model-based designs, to enhance trial efficiency and outcomes;
  • Utilize advanced modeling and simulation techniques, and predictive analytics to address complex challenges in drug development and life-cycle management;
  • Drive the creation of cutting-edge data analytic tools, such as R-Shiny apps, to support agile, data-driven decision-making;
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to influence quantitative decision-making and represent Bayer in professional societies, academic institutions, and regulatory discussions;
  • Stay at the forefront of industry trends, regulatory requirements, and statistical innovations to ensure Bayer remains a leader in clinical trial excellence;
  • Mentor and train statisticians and clinical teams on advanced statistical methods and novel study designs to foster knowledge sharing and large-scale adoption.


WHO YOU ARE

  • A PhD in Biostatistics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field;
  • At least 15 years of experience as a Statistician or in applied quantitative methods, with a strong background in pharma, biotech, or a similar sector;
  • Proven expertise in innovative statistical methodologies, including adaptive designs, Bayesian methods, and advanced modeling techniques;
  • Proficiency in statistical programming languages (e.g., SAS, R, Python) and Bayesian software (e.g., BUGS, JAGS, Stan);
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor and inspire diverse teams in a collaborative environment;
  • In-depth knowledge of clinical drug development processes, regulatory requirements, and real-world evidence strategies;
  • A passion for innovation, with a strong publication record and a track record of influencing industry trends and driving operational efficiencies in clinical development;
  • Fluency in English and the ability to work independently and collaboratively across global teams.
