To provide direct support to the Corporate Director in co ordinating the work of the Directorate to ensure that agreed priorities are met. To oversee development of relevant strategies and plans on behalf of the Directorate, including multi agency work.
To ensure that the Directorate has access to the right performance information on a reliable and timely basis. To oversee improvement and transformation programmes and projects, as requested by the Corporate Director. To act as a member of the Directorate senior management team.
Key Responsibilities- Support the development and delivery of operational and team plans, ensuring alignment with the Council's strategic priorities and vision.
- Conduct research, benchmarking and analysis to identify best practice, improve service delivery and drive organisational efficiency.
- Coordinate and monitor corporate and directorate compliance, performance management and governance activities.
- Support the development and implementation of innovative initiatives including the use of AI and technology and provide input into business case development.
- Maintain oversight of strategic policies and frameworks, ensuring alignment across directorate priorities and objectives.
- Lead and support improvement, transformation and change programmes on behalf of senior leadership.
- An appropriate professional qualification within the remit of the professions covered with evidence of continuous professional development.
- Experience of consistent achievements as a senior manager in business and customer service.
- Experience of leading a significant programme of change which had major impact on staff and processes.
- Experience delivering best value through innovative, integrated, client and community focused service provision whilst promoting equal opportunities.
- Experience in developing effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders and operating and negotiating with outside agencies.
