Salary: £120,000 - £150,000 + Performance Bonus

Director of Operations - Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency Programmes

An established and rapidly growing renewable energy and energy services organisation is seeking an experienced Director of Operations to support the next phase of national expansion.

With over four decades of experience delivering heating, solar and energy efficiency solutions, the business operates at significant scale across the UK supporting national programmes focused on reducing fuel poverty, improving housing standards and supporting the transition to Net Zero.

Following recent investment and the launch of an ambitious five-year growth strategy, the organisation is now seeking a senior operational leader to ensure its operational delivery infrastructure can scale efficiently while maintaining quality, compliance and performance.

Role Overview

The Director of Operations will oversee all operational delivery across installation programmes and service divisions, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in full compliance with regulatory and accreditation frameworks.

Working closely with the CEO and senior leadership team, this role will translate strategic growth plans into scalable operational structures capable of supporting the companys expansion over the next five years.

The successful candidate will bring strong leadership experience within energy efficiency, retrofit, renewables, utilities or regulated construction environments.

Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership
  • Oversee the day-to-day operational delivery of installation and service programmes
  • Ensure operational teams deliver projects safely, efficiently and to required quality standards
  • Develop operational processes capable of supporting continued growth and increased delivery volumes
  • Monitor operational performance against delivery targets and KPIs
  • Provide leadership and direction to operational managers and department leads
  • Develop high-performing operational teams capable of scaling with business growth
  • Promote collaboration across departments including commercial, technical and compliance teams
Strategic Delivery Planning
  • Translate company strategy into clear operational delivery plans
  • Support the CEO and senior leadership team in executing business growth objectives
  • Implement systems and structures to scale operational delivery nationally
Programme and Installation Delivery
  • Oversee large-scale installation programmes including heating, renewable and energy efficiency works
  • Ensure installation programmes are delivered within contractual requirements and performance frameworks
  • Manage operational resources across multiple regional teams
Compliance & Industry Standards
  • Ensure operational delivery complies with regulatory and industry frameworks
  • Maintain oversight of accreditation requirements and quality standards
  • Work closely with compliance teams to maintain operational integrity
Supplier & Supply Chain Management
  • Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and delivery partners
  • Ensure effective coordination across the operational supply chain
  • Support strategic supply chain development as the business scales
Budget & Financial Management
  • Manage operational budgets and expenditure
  • Support financial forecasting and operational cost control
  • Provide operational insights to support strategic financial planning
Candidate Profile
  • Significant senior operational leadership experience
  • Experience within renewable energy, energy efficiency, retrofit, utilities or construction sectors
  • Experience managing large-scale installation or programme delivery environments
  • Strong understanding of operational compliance and regulatory frameworks
  • Proven ability to lead operational teams and manage delivery performance
  • Experience managing operational budgets and performance metrics
  • Experience delivering large-scale retrofit or energy efficiency programmes
  • Exposure to government-backed schemes or regulated installation frameworks
  • Experience working within rapidly growing organisations

Salary & Package

£120,000 - £150,000 basic salary depending on experience
