REQ4864

We are seeking a proactive Director of IT Change to lead core IT projects and programs supporting a multi-year Business Transformation. This role will drive technology delivery across all functions, processes, and personnel, enabling safety, operational performance, and productivity improvements.

Reporting to the CIO and part of the senior leadership team, the Director will collaborate closely with the CTO, CISO, Head of IT Operations, and the Transformation Director. Strong matrix management and networking skills are essential for working with senior leaders and managing cross-functional teams.

The primary responsibility is ensuring the successful delivery of all technology changes, facilitating SGN's transformation to enhance safety, efficiency, and process redesign. Additionally, the role oversees internal IT capability development to improve organizational effectiveness, meet efficiency benchmarks, and ensure timely change execution.

We deliver safety, warmth, and comfort to homes and businesses. Every role, whether in the office or on the front line, plays a key part in this mission. Here's how you will contribute

  • Oversee all technology change delivery for the Business Transformation programme, ensuring resource availability and effective management of external and internal teams.
  • Manage the IT Programme budget, maintaining strong financial governance, planning, forecasting, and delivering projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
  • Report on key performance indicators for project and programme delivery, ensuring consistent and effective reporting with the Transformation Programme Office and IT PMO.
  • Define, maintain, and communicate the IT Programme portfolio and plans, managing multiple changes simultaneously, and providing visibility through regular reporting.
  • Lead, coach, and support the IT team, fostering a high-performing, collaborative environment aligned with SGN's strategy.
  • Implement industry-leading programme management, agile, and lean delivery practices.
  • Drive internal IT capability development and technology consolidation to meet efficiency and cost targets.

What you will need

We're looking for a variety of skills and qualities that make you a great fit. If you don't meet every requirement, don't worry-we offer tailored learning and development to help you succeed.

  • Proven track record delivering complex IT Change Programmes valued in the double-digit millions.
  • Experience implementing enterprise platforms like Salesforce Field Service, Oracle Fusion ERP, Maximo, ServiceNow, and AWS, supporting end-to-end process redesign.
  • Skilled in developing and executing delivery plans using both waterfall and agile methodologies to maximize early business value.
  • Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of leadership leading large, cross-functional teams and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Strong matrix management, networking, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experienced in managing large budgets, delivering sizable projects on scope, time, and budget.
  • Knowledge of IT demand, change portfolio management, and IT PMO oversight (risk, issues, dependencies, finances).
  • Experience in IT operating model change delivery and applying project methodologies (Prince2, Agile, Waterfall) with change management best practices.
  • Proven leadership in coaching and developing delivery teams and managing third-party partners.
