Director of Finance (Fixed Term) Brothers Of Charity

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Finance Director to provide maternity cover on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a key leadership role, responsible for ensuring sound financial management, strong governance, and effective leadership of the finance team. The post holder will play a critical role in the CFO and senior leadership team, delivering strategic and operational financial objectives, and ensuring the organisation remains financially sustainable and compliant.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified finance professional with proven leadership experience, excellent expertise, and the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels. They will combine commercial acumen with a strong commitment to our charitable mission, values, and ethos.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Act as a key member of the senior leadership team, advising on financial strategy, risk management, and business planning.
• Lead and develop a high-performing finance function, ensuring robust systems, processes, and controls.
• Oversee preparation of timely, accurate management accounts, financial statements, and statutory returns in line with GAAP and Charities SORP.
• Lead annual budget setting and provide financial guidance to budget holders.
• Monitor financial performance, ensuring delivery of strategic objectives and value for money.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, audit, tax, and regulatory requirements.Build positive relationships with external stakeholders, partners, and suppliers.
• Provide clear, insightful financial advice to the Executive Team, Trustees, and senior colleagues.
• Lead, inspire, and support the Finance team, ensuring strong performance, continuous development, and professional growth.

Hours: 36.25 per week

Location: Hybrid work
