The Director of Content role is pivotal to FOW's ambitious growth plans, overseeing and enhancing our in depth analysis of the futures and options market.

JOB PURPOSE

Derivia Intelligence is seeking a highly motivated, experienced Director of Content to lead our growing, international editorial team at FOW (Futures & Options World). The successful candidate will call upon their deep knowledge of the futures and options market to deliver the consistent, high quality, insightful editorial coverage for which FOW is renowned.

The Director of Content will own and develop the future direction of our client facing futures and options editorial products. This is a hybrid role, with a mix of remote and in office work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • As the most senior person in the FOW content team, oversee and increase the delivery of high quality editorial and analytical coverage that reflects market trends and developments.
  • Build and own the FOW content strategy and produce a calendar of projects and potential new content to add to our portfolio, such as new reports, data, articles, multimedia, or any other editorial output.
  • Organise the team to expand coverage, from providing short, frequent articles and daily analysis to in depth data and reports.
  • Manage the editorial team to ensure the main market developments are reported in each region, including breaking news stories and the daily newsletter.
  • Provide leadership to a team of direct reports based in London, Hong Kong and India.
  • Build external contacts to ensure access to key market players for insightful and exclusive reporting.
  • Support the events programming team in identifying key topics for upcoming conferences and be comfortable speaking at events.
  • Stay abreast of the key developments in the global futures and options market and work collaboratively with the team to reflect these in our products.
  • Play an active role in FOW's leadership team to reflect the company's strategic priorities with product improvements and new product development.
  • Be commercially aware and play an essential role in maintaining and developing client relationships, with subscription revenue growth always at the forefront.
KEY INTERFACES - INTERNAL
  • Editorial team: organise, resource, and lead the team to ensure frequent, high quality articles.
  • Data team: liaise with the data team to ensure comprehensive analytics coverage.
  • Sales team: support salespeople during prospective and existing client calls/meetings to enhance the quality of the FOW business proposition.
  • Events team: share knowledge to effectively inform conference panel discussions and appear at events.
  • Management team: own the FOW editorial content strategy and be accountable for its development and maintenance in accordance with the company's growth objectives.
  • Chief Product Officer: work closely with, and report into the CPO.
KEY INTERFACES - EXTERNAL
  • Relationships with external market contacts to source articles and for comment.
  • Prospective and existing clients and wider futures and options market.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE
  • In depth understanding of futures and options markets and metrics, the derivatives product ecosystem and wider financial market dynamics.
  • Ability to 'spot the story' and get straight to the point, while removing unnecessary detail and noise.
  • Extensive content planning experience, to translate commercial priorities into content products that enhance FOW's editorial offering.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills and ability to work across multiple workflows.
  • Robust networking skills and ability to develop relationships in a commercial setting.
  • Comfortable liaising with executives/market participants at all levels of seniority and talent for managing complex relationships.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver high quality outcomes.
  • Extensive experience managing a team of journalists.
  • Comfortable presenting in a commercial or conference context.
  • Experience motivating colleagues and working with multiple people at the same time.
