Job Description

The Director of Commercial Partnerships will be a key member of the senior leadership team,
responsible for driving Asia House's growth and strengthening its commercial partnerships.
Working closely with the Chief Executive and senior colleagues, the Director of Commercial
Partnerships will lead business development and client engagement across Asia House's core
activities including research, advisory, convening, and events. The role requires strong
relationship-building skills, commercial acumen, and the ability to represent Asia House
confidently across business, government, and institutional audiences in the UK and
internationally.

Proven experience in winning new business - ideally within a consultancy, research, policy, or
think-tank environment - is essential, as is a track record of managing senior client relationships
and delivering complex, multi-stakeholder projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement Asia House's overall commercial strategy aligned with organisational objectives.
  • Lead business development efforts to secure new clients, projects, and sponsorships
    across Asia House's core markets.
  • Support the Chief Executive in shaping growth plans, setting commercial targets and
    identifying new revenue streams.
  • Build high-level relationships with members, partners, and stakeholders across the
    private and public sectors.
Business Development and Revenue Generation

  • Oversee the full business development cycle from prospecting through to proposal,
    negotiation, and delivery.
  • Work with internal teams to design, package, and deliver projects that meet client and
    member priorities.
Commercial Management
  • Maintain oversight of pipelines, performance, and reporting.
  • Ensure best practice in client contracting, budgeting, and project delivery.
  • Support compliance with Asia House's governance, ethical, and editorial independence
    standards.
  • Contribute to cross-organisational collaboration to ensure quality, consistency, and
    impact across all commercial activities.
    Leadership and representation
  • Serve as part of Asia House's senior leadership team, contributing to overall
    organisational direction and decision-making.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to colleagues involved in business development and
    delivery.
  • Promote Asia House's reputation as a trusted and independent platform for dialogue,
    research, and commercial engagement.
  • Where appropriate, chair and moderate Asia House events, briefings, and partner
