As Director of Campus Life and Operations at Hult International Business School, you will work alongside the Campus Dean to lead efforts in delivering an exceptional student, staff, and faculty experience on campus.
This role requires an experienced leader of people, operations, and programs who can think strategically, manage resources effectively, uphold the highest standards of integrity, and inspire confidence and trust. In this role, you demonstrate diplomacy, collaboration, strong communication skills and a constructive work style necessary to thrive within matrixed teams and across multiple campuses. This role encompasses strategic planning, policy development, budget management, and the recruitment and management of staff to foster an enriching and supportive environment for all campus community members.
The Director of Campus Life and Operations provides administrative leadership for campus operational departments, including:
- Student Life
- Information Technology (in coordination with Global Tech Team leadership)
- Facilities
This role collaborates across campuses and with Central Teams including academics, marketing, student affairs, conduct, finance, enrolment, alumni relations and the People and Culture teams.
Goals
- Champion Hult's mission, vision, objectives, and values.
- Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight by anticipating institutional needs and implementing a strategic plan to fulfill educational and business goals.
- Review, refine, and establish policies, processes, and protocols related to student welfare, safety, and conduct.
- Work closely with the Senior Associate Dean of Students and VP of Operations on global initiatives and when necessary, ensure global alignment across campuses.
- Increase revenue streams by leveraging external use and rental options for Hult facilities and partnerships.
- Drive student satisfaction with respect to all extracurricular aspects of their program journey.
- Serve as a member of the Campus Emergency Team (CET) and Campus Assessment, Response, and Evaluation (CARE) team.
- Recruit, develop and support a high-performing campus team that efficiently ensures excellent service delivery and quality of experience for stakeholders.
- Foster campus community programming, health & wellness initiatives, and staff recognition efforts (e.g., Hult Core Values Awards, Anniversaries, Birthdays, Staff Stories).
- Be a key contributor in meeting Hult's strategic priorities to build and maintain financial stability, enhance its reputation, and make it a great place to work, teach, and study.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Campus Operations- Maintain campus safety protocols, including Fire Marshal and CIRG training.
- Collaborate with vendors (ex. security and cleaning teams) to address academic year and summer term-specific needs.
- Schedule and coordinate fire drills, fire alarm testing, and facilities cleaning.
- Manage local campus budgets for operations functions
- Oversee emergency contact and AlertMedia updates for students, faculty, and staff.
- Manage facilities and day-to-day operational use of buildings.
- Own new staff/faculty onboarding process, welcome kits, ID access, and day-one needs.
- Develop and deliver training for campus staff and faculty on crisis response protocols, campus staff handbook, and policies.
- Serve as a member of CARE team (Campus Assessment Response and Education) and appeal conduct officer for Professional Integrity Committee (PIC)l or Title IX issues as appropriate.
- Manage and triage emergencies on campus and in support of students in collaboration with central operations, if needed.
- Manage student, staff, and faculty ID inventory and placement of orders with vendors.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to manage building systems/components, renovations, maintenance and projects.
- Work centrally with senior leadership to align campus closure information, processes, and dates.
- Meet weekly with the Campus Dean and Head of Career & Employer Relations to align on the strategic campus events, programming needs, and ensuring fluency between academic and extracurricular activities.
- Support experiential program planning and operations (e.g. summer bootcamps, campus-based City Seminars)
- Assist with campus rotation preparations in collaboration with
- the central operations and academics teams
- Ensure resources for events, including furniture, food services, and signage, are adequately managed.
- Oversight of major campus events:
- Orientation and graduation planning
- Campus-based Hult Prize
- Annual Campus Summits
- Annual Faculty and Staff events (holiday and graduation celebrations)
- Any large-scale special events such as conferences, accreditation review meetings
- In alignment and coordination with the Senior Associate Dean of Students and VP of Operations, cross-train campus operations and academic staff to be equipped to answer frequently asked student accounts and visa questions
- Organize monthly staff meetings, managing the meeting agenda and fostering community building.
- Lead and manage campus Manager meetings to align campus stakeholders
- Manage staff onboarding and development in alignment with People and Culture team
- Support Academic team with new faculty onboarding
- Implement relevant health & wellness initiatives and programming to support team professional development.
- Work collaboratively with the People and Culture Team to foster a culture of staff recognition through global and local initiatives that align with Hult's core values.
- In coordination with global Alumni Relations Team, support local alumni chapter with coordination of 2-3 annual alumni events
- Work closely with Enrolment and Marketing team to support key campus and online events (e.g. Open Houses, Campus Premieres, Experience Hult events on campuses)
- Establish external partnerships for space use and rental options, driving additional revenue streams.
- Oversee vendor management and maintain strong relationships with external providers.
On campus Requirement - This position requires on-campus presence at least 4 days a week with 5 days during peak periods of the academic year. Current 1-day work-from-home (WFH) allowance must be coordinated with campus team to ensure adequate team coverage on campus. Note that the WFH allowance is subject to change in accordance with School review.
