The Opportunity
Reporting to the executive team, you will define and execute the AI platform strategy whilst leading the successful delivery of complex AI programmes and customer engagements.
This role combines AI strategy, platform engineering, software delivery and operational leadership. You will ensure the organisation continues to build scalable, cutting-edge AI solutions that deliver measurable commercial value.

About You
You are an experienced technology leader with a strong software engineering background and a proven track record delivering AI, machine learning or advanced software solutions.

Essential Experience
* Delivering complex AI, machine learning or software solutions.
* Strong understanding of Agentic AI, Generative AI and LLM ecosystems.
* Building and scaling AI platforms in production environments.
* Leading large multidisciplinary technology teams.
* Previous experience as a Head of Software Engineering, Director of Engineering, Engineering Manager, Principal Engineer or similar leadership role.
* Delivery governance, quality management and operational oversight.
* Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Experience operating within high-growth technology businesses.

Education
* Degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or a related discipline.
* STEM degree highly desirable.
* Equivalent industry experience will also be considered.

Highly Desirable
* LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, CrewAI, AutoGen, OpenAI Agents or Microsoft Copilot Studio.
* AI agent and multi-agent solution delivery.
* Model Context Protocol (MCP).
* AI testing, observability and evaluation frameworks.
* MLOps, LLMOps and AI governance.
* Experience within regulated or mission-critical environments.

* Define and deliver the AI platform strategy.
* Lead scalable AI infrastructure, tooling and governance.
* Drive adoption of Agentic AI, Generative AI and modern AI architectures.
* Own delivery of complex AI and software programmes.
* Establish best practices for AI engineering, testing and deployment.
* Lead high-performing engineering, product and delivery teams.
* Drive innovation whilst maintaining governance and quality standards.
* Act as a trusted adviser to customers and executive stakeholders.
