Role Overview

The Director, Consulting Services Sales for Sustainability Industry (Technology) focuses on building and maintaining relationships with key buyers of consulting services, generating leads, and supporting sales pursuits within a defined set of accounts. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in consulting sales, a willingness to understand ERM's service offerings and value propositions, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team to pursue and win new business opportunities.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
  1. Build relationships with key decision-makers and economic buyers of ERM services at assigned accounts to understand their business strategies and priorities, identify opportunities, and manage sales motions to closure. Qualify new business opportunities to build a robust sales pipeline (3x sales target).
  2. Coordinate relationship-building activities with service and industry teams, client engagement teams, and marketing resources to develop and propose tailored consulting service solutions. Manage accounts, renewals, cross-sales, and growth within accounts.
  3. Assist with proposal development, emphasizing ERM's value proposition, key differentiators, and win themes.
  4. Establish, monitor, and revise lead generation plans and activities. Report on sales activities, client feedback, and market trends.
  5. Represent ERM at conferences and industry events.
  6. Identify areas for value improvement in the sales process, including cost & pricing strategies for services and sales.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, marketing, or equivalent experience. Minimum ten years of experience in selling professional services in a complex sales environment.
  2. Proven success in driving professional services sales through hunting and relationship building, consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  3. Knowledge of the industry, regional market, and key players, with preference for experience in environmental resource management and sustainability consulting services.
  4. Experience in identifying, initiating, and nurturing new and ongoing business opportunities, with proficiency in CRM tools to manage the sales lifecycle.
  5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills for building and maintaining client relationships.
  6. Willingness to travel as needed.
