Director, Building Surveying (Projects)

A successful London property consultancy is looking for a commercially astute Director to lead a pod of 5-6 people within their projects team. The work is predominantly landlord-oriented: office refurbishments up to £15m, recarbonisation projects, large facade remediation, PV installations and working alongside property management teams on high-quality commercial buildings.

This is not just a project delivery role. You'll be expected to spot the project opportunity within a client relationship, shape the brief, procure and deliver, and earn fees while doing it. It's also not just a desk role. Directors spend a good proportion of time fee earning, staying hands-on with inspections and maintaining market knowledge.

Duties of the Director to include:

• Running a pod of 5-6 surveyors, directing and reviewing their output
• Identifying and winning project opportunities from existing client relationships
• Delivering landlord-oriented refurbishment and improvement projects (£50k to £15m+)
• Overseeing recarbonisation, facade remediation and PV installation projects
• Fee earning through inspections, reports and project management
• Collaborating with property management teams on major commercial assets
• Cross-selling across the wider consultancy platform

The Person?

A commercially sharp project leader who can extract opportunity from client conversations and deliver complex landlord projects.

The Director will have:

• MRICS qualification with strong post-qualification experience
• Proven track record managing and delivering commercial refurbishment projects
• Ability to identify, shape and win project work from existing relationships
• Experience managing a small team
• Commercial office sector experience (desirable)
• Recarbonisation or sustainability project experience (desirable)
