Job Description

Graduate Digital Marketing & Brand Executive

9-12 Month Fixed-Term Contract Potential to Become Permanent

Based in the South West (Plymouth, Exeter, South Hams or surrounding areas) Remote with periodic travel to sites across the UK

We're looking for a creative, commercially minded and digitally savvy graduate to join our growing Group and support marketing activity across a number of businesses, brands and locations.

This is a broad digital marketing and brand role with plenty of variety. You'll be involved in everything from social media and content creation to website updates, digital advertising, email marketing, branding, marketing materials and campaign support.

It's not a role where you'll simply be given a list of tasks. You'll have real autonomy from day one, with the opportunity to bring ideas, experiment with different approaches and make a visible contribution to how our businesses are marketed.

You'll need to be someone who is happy to get stuck in - whether that means creating a Reel, updating a website, putting together a marketing document, coordinating an advert with a local publication or finding a better way to promote one of our businesses.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll take a leading role in the Group's social media and content activity, while also getting involved across the wider marketing function. No two days are likely to be the same.

  • Own the day-to-day social media presence across the Group, including LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.
  • Create original content from concept through to publication - including posts, Reels, short-form video, photography, graphics, stories and campaigns.
  • Film and edit engaging content, including day-in-the-life, behind-the-scenes, people, business and brand-led content.
  • Build and manage content calendars across multiple businesses, brands and audiences.
  • Adapt tone, style and messaging for different brands, demographics and geographical markets.
  • Identify trends, stories and opportunities and bring fresh ideas rather than waiting to be told what to create.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, getting to know our businesses and finding the people, stories and activity that make great content.
  • Use Canva and other creative tools to produce professional, engaging and on-brand content and marketing materials.
  • Help keep our websites and digital content up to date, including adding new content, images and business information.
  • Support wider marketing activity, including local advertising, magazines, publications, partnerships and promotional opportunities.
  • Help create and update marketing materials, presentations, brochures, flyers and other brand collateral.
  • Assist with email marketing, digital campaigns and other marketing activity as required.
  • Use AI tools to support research, ideas and content development, while ensuring the final output is original, accurate and aligned to each brand.
  • Review social media and marketing performance and use insights to understand what works and where we can improve.
  • Look for new ways to increase brand awareness, engagement and ultimately business growth.

Who We're Looking For

You'll ideally be a recent graduate in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Media, Communications, Business or a related discipline, although we're much more interested in your attitude, ability and potential than simply your degree subject.

You'll be:

  • Creative and curious - always looking for new ideas and better ways of doing things.
  • Commercially minded - understanding that marketing should ultimately help build brands, generate opportunities and support business growth.
  • Digitally confident and genuinely interested in how businesses can use digital channels to reach and engage their audiences.
  • A strong writer who can create clear, engaging and audience-appropriate copy.
  • Comfortable creating visual content using Canva and similar tools.
  • Interested in social media, content, websites and the wider digital marketing landscape.
  • Organised enough to manage multiple businesses, projects and deadlines.
  • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership rather than waiting to be told what to do.
  • Proactive, practical and prepared to get stuck in and learn as you go.
  • Comfortable using AI tools to improve productivity, research and creative output.
  • Interested in understanding what works commercially, rather than simply creating marketing for the sake of it.
  • Ideally comfortable with photography/video and willing to get behind the camera when required.

You don't need to be an expert in every area - this is a graduate role, and we expect you to learn. What matters most is that you're bright, enthusiastic, adaptable and keen to develop into a well-rounded marketer.

The Opportunity

This is a 9-12 month Fixed-Term Contract with the potential to become permanent.

You'll have the opportunity to work across a growing group of businesses and gain hands-on experience across a much broader range of marketing disciplines than you would typically get in a graduate role.

You'll have the freedom to make the role your own, test ideas, learn quickly and demonstrate the value that a strong digital marketing function can bring to a growing business.

For the right person, this could be the start of a long-term career within the Group, with the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility as the businesses and marketing function grow.
