Job Description

Your team:
The digital communications team at Pan Macmillan is a fifteen-person-strong team of experts covering the breadth of the digital marketing ecosphere. From metadata to SEO, data collection to analysis, paid digi ads to influencer coordination and much more, the digital communications team endeavour to touch every element of our books as they appear on the internet - and make sure that they find as wide an audience as possible.

Your role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and data-driven Digital Analytics Executive to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in enhancing the performance of our website by analysing user behaviour, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing data-driven strategies to increase traffic, engagement, and conversions.

Your Profile

Your key responsibilities:

  • Website Performance Analysis:
    • Analyse website performance data using a variety of analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics 4, Adobe Analytics, Google Search Console) to identify trends, understand channel performance and user behaviour, and uncover areas for improvement.

    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as website and channel traffic, bounce rates, conversion rates, and time on site.

    • Data-Driven Recommendations:
      • Identify and implement data-driven recommendations for new content and strategies, and the optimisation of existing content.

      • Make data-based recommendations for new website features and functionalities to enhance the user experience.

      • Develop and implement A/B testing and other experimentation strategies to optimise website elements such as calls to action, page layouts, and content.

      • Reporting & Communication:
        • Generate regular reports on website performance, providing actionable insights and recommendations to key stakeholders (e.g., marketing, editorial, and sales departments).

        • Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

        • Content Marketing & SEO:
          • Collaborate with content teams to identify opportunities for growth across a wide range of channels (organic and paid social, email, organic search, Google Discover, etc).

          • Work with content teams to optimise website content for search engines and user engagement.

          • Analyse keyword research and competitor analysis using SEO tools (ahrefs, Semrush, etc.) to inform website content and SEO strategies.

          • Stay abreast of the latest trends in digital analytics, content marketing and SEO, applying best practices to drive continuous improvement.

        • Collaborate with project teams (e.g., website development, marketing, editorial) to ensure website optimisation efforts align with overall business objectives.

          Advise on the selection and implementation of analytical tools, site design, and functionality.

          Essential experience, abilities and knowledge you'll need to succeed:

          Proven experience in content marketing, analytics within a digital environment and SEO

          A thorough understanding of Google Analytics 4, Looker Studio, SEO tools (e.g., Semrush, Moz, ahrefs), and content management systems.

          Excellent reporting and data visualisation skills, with the ability to create and amend automated reports from multiple data sources.

          Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to merge and interpret data and translate insights into actionable strategies.

          Effective communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams.

          Creative, curious and strategic thinker with a passion for publishing and digital innovation.

          A passion for reading and books.
