WORKING HOURS: Full time - hybrid working, 3 days per week in the office

PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £24,000 - £29,000 + London weighting @£5441. Salary is dependent on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

BBC Studios Kids & Family, the home of Supertato, The Dumping Ground, new CBBC drama Crookhaven, Bluey and more, have an exciting opportunity for a Development Coordinator to join the development team.

Supporting two Development Execs across animation and scripted live action, you will cover diary management, organise award submissions, reconcile expenses, book travel, manage and update the talent tracker and gather content for the fortnightly newsletter as well as other ad hoc admin requests.

You will build strong working relationships with the Dev Execs, developing a clear understanding of their style and priorities. You will be confident representing them at meetings and in their absence as required, and reflect their views and interests as well as those of the wider team.

Your administrative support will help ensure the smooth and efficient running of the team - freeing up time for Dev Execs to be more productive, creative and commercially focused, and ultimately support the growth and success of the K&F business.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to Development Executives, including diary management, handling internal and external queries, and supporting projects on the Development slate
  • Manage the submissions and queries process, ensuring all correspondence is logged and tracked, following up with team members to guarantee timely, considered responses
  • Support project development, including reading and reporting on development materials, preparing agendas and minutes for meetings, ensuring actions are captured and completed, and assisting with presentations and pitches using PowerPoint, Photoshop and Keynote
  • Conduct research and monitor industry trends, sourcing and sharing relevant announcements, and facilitating team discussions
  • Manage and update the talent tracker; build and maintain relationships with external partners, agents, publishers, writers and other creative stakeholders
  • Support wider team activities; coordinate travel, meetings and logistics for markets and conferences, assist with events and workshops, gather material for the fortnightly newsletter and undertake additional duties to support senior team members as required
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • Experience of working in an administrative role in a busy office or TV environment
  • Diary management experience, as well as responsibility for duties such as planning & organising meetings and events, taking minutes, database management, and liaison with internal and external stakeholders and bodies - in person, online and on the phone
  • Proven technical ability with packages such as Word, Excel and Outlook. Experience of creating presentations and designing documents with packages such as PowerPoint, Photoshop and Keynote
  • A proven interest in television, film and literature alongside a passion for kids and family content and the international media landscape for young audiences and teens
  • A proven interest in developing existing editorial skills for assessing scripts, books, treatments or outlines and the ability to articulate opinions and suggestions when discussing content
