£50-60,000 Depending on experience

We're looking for a skilled and motivated Desk-Based Sales Engineer to join our clients growing team in the telecoms and unified communications space. This role combines technical know-how with sales expertise and leadership, making it perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.

In this position, you'll be responsible for managing a small team of four, supporting them to develop new business opportunities while also contributing directly to sales performance. You'll take ownership of lead generation and prospecting activity, using your industry knowledge and commercial awareness to identify opportunities and turn them into successful client relationships.

You'll work closely with prospects to understand their business needs and translate these into effective telecoms and UC solutions. Crafting proposals, presenting tailored recommendations, and negotiating contracts will be a core part of your role. Your ability to communicate clearly and confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders will be key to your success.

As a team leader, you'll set performance expectations, monitor progress, and help your team reach their full potential. You'll also track and report on sales performance, forecasting pipeline revenue and ensuring accuracy and visibility across all activity.

We're looking for someone with experience in telecoms or unified communications sales, preferably with exposure to hosted voice, connectivity, or cloud-based solutions. You should be comfortable working in a desk-based environment and confident leading a small team. Familiarity with CRM tools like Salesforce is important, along with strong communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.

  • A track record of delivering high volume new business telecoms deals into Mid-Market business's
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Highly motivated with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (eg, Salesforce), Microsoft Office Suite, and other business development tools.
