ContextSYSTRA is expanding our Signature Team in the UK, working on high-profile projects such as Transpennine Upgrade and HS2. Building on 50 years of UK success, we are growing our team and looking for passionate individuals to deliver across our portfolio.
We aim to strengthen our Engineering team in London, initially supporting the HS2 Old Oak Common project, by recruiting experienced Design Managers to oversee design delivery. This role suits a committed, ambitious engineer with strong leadership, interpersonal skills, commercial awareness, and relevant discipline experience, especially in Civil Engineering on infrastructure projects.

Main DutiesThe Design Manager will collaborate with designers and contractors on tasks such as:
- Adopting a cost-effective, high-quality, safe, and environmentally responsible approach to design, construction, and commissioning, compliant with legislation.
- Managing coordination between design and construction teams.
- Overseeing delivery and coordination of work packages for Old Oak Common JV station.
- Ensuring consistency and quality of deliverables across the project with the wider design team.
- Delivering work on time, within budget, and to specifications.
- Degree in a relevant discipline.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams on major infrastructure projects.
- Proven ability to manage design delivery programs and budgets.
- Broad design engineering experience in infrastructure.
- Understanding of CDM regulations.
- Experience with NEC3 contracts.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience with ProjectWise and Bentley Systems.
- Membership of a professional institution.
