Design Engineer - Process

We are looking to strengthen our engineering team with a Process Engineer based at Exeter or Bristol, with hybrid working available.
You will report directly to the Principal Process Engineer and your role will be to provide superior quality Engineering Design services to help the company minimize risks and maximize profits on turnkey and engineering services contracts. You will coordinate the design and produce design documents and drawings, considering health and safety requirements, specifications, and standards related to the contract.
Key responsibilities include:
- Producing cost-effective design layouts that meet specifications and can be effectively constructed and commissioned.
- Utilizing standard practices wherever possible.
- Providing estimates and feedback for the proposals department.
- Working according to procedures and processes to develop the department.
- Monitoring and reviewing procedures and processes.
- Writing, updating, and monitoring efficient procedures for smooth department operations.
- Coordinating designs with all disciplines, internal and external, to ensure integrated contract execution.
- Fostering a customer-centric culture, recognizing customer satisfaction as key to achieving other objectives, including all beneficiaries of our processes.
- Ensuring environmental considerations are integrated into designs.
- Ensuring all health and safety requirements are fully incorporated into designs.
Essential requirements: Experience in interpreting and compiling Process Flow Diagrams and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams; experience in the process industry; understanding water treatment principles; relevant discipline Engineering HND.
Preferable qualifications: Engineering degree in a relevant discipline; ability to rationalize designs and produce economical plant layouts; a flexible mind capable of handling large amounts of data; ability to present technical proposals clearly and convincingly; computer literacy.
