Job Description

We are looking to strengthen our engineering team with an EICA Engineer based at Exeter, with hybrid working available and an expectation to attend sites regularly.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing high-quality engineering design services to minimize risks and maximize profits on turnkey and engineering service contracts.
  • Coordinating the design process and producing design documents and drawings, considering health and safety requirements, specifications, and standards.
  • Producing cost-effective design layouts that meet specifications and are practical for construction and commissioning.
  • Ensuring the use of standard practices where possible.
  • Providing estimates and feedback to the proposals department.
  • Following procedures and processes to support departmental development.
  • Monitoring and updating procedures to ensure efficiency.
  • Coordinating designs with internal and external disciplines for overall project benefit.
  • Fostering a customer-focused culture, recognizing that customer satisfaction is key to achieving objectives.
  • Maintaining a personal development plan.
  • Ensuring a safe working environment for all staff.
  • Minimizing waste in departmental activities.
  • Considering environmental issues in design processes.
  • Adhering to health and safety requirements in all designs.

Essential qualifications:

  • Understanding principles of water and sewage treatment.
  • Full membership of a relevant professional institution.
  • At least an HND in a relevant engineering discipline.

Preferred qualifications:

  • An engineering degree.
  • Ability to rationalize designs and produce economical plant layouts.
  • Flexible mindset capable of handling large amounts of data.
  • Strong presentation skills for technical proposals.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Driving license.

Desirable qualifications:

  • Working towards Chartered Engineer status.
  • Relevant Master's Degree in Engineering.
