An award-winning electronics manufacturer in South Wales is currently looking to strengthen its research and development department with the key acquisition of a Mechanical Design Engineer. With investment secured for the next 5 years, this company is in a leading position to capitalise on the market growth. The business has a healthy order book and exciting development plans making it an excellent time to join the company.

Role & Responsibilities

Responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems, components, and products. This includes creating innovative design concepts, modeling with CAD software, and overseeing the prototyping and testing.

  • Create mechanical design concepts and produce detailed 3D models and technical drawings for components and assemblies using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks).
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including bills of materials (BOMs), engineering drawings, and design manuals
  • Conduct and oversee when required product verification and validation activities
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in mechanical design, preferably within the electronic, medical device or a highly regulated industry.
  • High level of proficiency with SolidWorks or similar CAD software
