Job Title: Design & Food Tech Teacher
Location: Baston House School, Bromley, Kent BR2 7AB
Salary: Up to £46,000 per annum, dependent on experience ( not pro rata )
Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm
Contract: Permanent Term Time Only
Start: December 2025

Baston House School is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Design & Food Technology Teacher to join our vibrant, supportive team. This is your chance to make a real difference by helping pupils develop practical skills, confidence, and a love of learning.

About the Role

At Baston House, learning is hands-on, engaging, and full of possibilities. You'll deliver exciting lessons that encourage pupils to explore, experiment, and create-whether in smart materials, CAD/CAM, graphics, textiles, resistant materials, electronics, photography, or animation.

What You'll Be Doing

• Deliver practical, engaging, and inspiring lessons that bring Design & Food Technology to life
• Develop creative resources and activities tailored to pupils' individual needs
• Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to enhance learning
• Participate in ongoing professional development and share ideas within the team
• Promote Baston House as a hub of creativity, professionalism, and care

Who We're Looking For

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience teaching autistic or SEN pupils (highly desirable)
• Creative, adaptable, and passionate about inspiring young people
• Collaborative, supportive, and committed to fostering an inclusive school environment
• Dedicated to helping pupils achieve their full potential

Baston House School is an independent day specialist school in Bromley, Kent, supporting children and young people aged 5-19 with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and associated needs.
