Deputy Social Care Manager

Location: Piltown, South Kilkenny Contract: Permanent, Full-Time Salary: Competitive

Our client, a well-established provider of residential care services for children and young people, is seeking an experienced Deputy Social Care Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.

This is a key leadership role with responsibility for assisting the Social Care Manager with the running of the house, managing the house in the Managers absence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support Young People - Promote the safety, wellbeing and development of children and young people in our care.
• Support the House Team - Help ensure the smooth and effective running of the house, including evenings, weekends and overnight work when required.
• Lead & Support Staff - Supervise staff and provide leadership in the Social Care Manager's absence.
• Create a Positive Home - Help maintain a safe, welcoming and homely environment.
• Reporting & Communication - Provide clear written and verbal reports and promptly raise any safeguarding or operational concerns.
• Maintain High Standards - Support quality, health & safety, compliance and continuous improvement across the service.
• Administration - Assist with staff rotas, training, holidays, meetings and other administrative duties.
• Confidentiality - Promote a culture of openness while maintaining strict confidentiality.
• Teamwork & Flexibility - Work collaboratively with colleagues and undertake other reasonable duties as required.

Requirements:

• Relevant degree in Social Care or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a Health or Social Care setting
• Experience of working with young persons' with challenging behaviour
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Full, clean manual driving licence.
