With our service evolving and expanding, there's never been a better time to grow your career with us.About you: Key ResponsibilitiesAs Deputy Home Manager, you'll support the Home Manager in leading the team, always ensuring the highest standards of care and safety:Oversee day-to-day operations of the home, including staffing, rota management, and budgets Supervise and support staff, delivering training and promoting professional development Implement care plans that reflect each child's specific needs, wishes, and feelings Foster strong relationships with children, staff, parents, schools, health services, and external agencies Champion inclusive practices that affirm each child's identity Monitor and report safeguarding, health and safety compliance, and quality standards Promote independence and daily living skills among young residents Facilitate children's meetings to encourage involvement in shaping their care Ensure accurate record-keeping and contribute to planning, reviews, and assessments QCF Level 3 in Children and Families (required) QCF Level 5 (or working towards) in leadership/residential care (required) Experience managing staff and working in residential childcare (essential) Proven ability to handle complex behaviours and emotionally challenging situations Skilled in communication (including use of visual and adaptive aids) Knowledge of care legislation and quality standards Commitment to equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practices Ability to work collaboratively with a wide network of professionals Available for shift work, weekends and public holidays Competitive salary 30 days annual leave + bank holidays (rising to 33 after 5 years, 35 after 10) Generous Pension Scheme Dedicated Practice Hub supporting continued training and career progression Be part of Birmingham Children's Trust-One Team with a shared vision to make Birmingham the greatest city to grow up in
