As a central part of the UK Legal entity, the Risk Management team is responsible for the independent identification, assessment, management, and mitigation of business risk across the legal entity. The team needs to understand the relationships and dynamics between each business area and provide a robust, value-added program.
The Deputy Head of Risk will support the Chief Risk Officer in the ownership and execution of the risk management framework, policies, procedures, tools, and techniques for the UK regulated entity, focusing on Asset Management. The role holder will provide independent oversight and challenge of the business risk profile for the UK regulated entity.
Key responsibilities include:Assist and support the CRO (SMF 4) with designing, implementing, and maintaining the Risk Management Framework, including operational, credit, liquidity, market, investment, conduct, and reputational risks.
Have knowledge and practical experience working in the Asset Management business.
Provide strategic risk advice to the business on firm-wide risk matters, including prudential regulation (MIFIDPRU, ICARA), governance, and organizational arrangements.
Act as back-up Chair of the Risk Committee and advise the CRO on escalation to the Board.
Represent Risk at leadership committees and Steer Co meetings as required.
Serve as a key advisor and escalation point for the Firm's Risk officers, ensuring consistent risk management guidance.
Assist in developing and managing the Firm's Risk resources, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback.
Help assess, mitigate, monitor, measure, and report on risks impacting the business.
Ensure the business demonstrates effective risk management.
Review key risk and incident metrics as an SME.
Promote and embed a strong risk culture, including staff education and training on risk mitigation techniques.
Work with Business and Finance to assess, quantify, stress test risk drivers, and determine capital and liquidity needs (ICARA).
Support strategic planning and develop aligned risk strategies.
Assist in selecting and implementing risk systems and user training.
Design and implement risk training programs for the UK regulated entity.
Collaborate with the US-based Group Enterprise risk team and functions.
Represent the Risk function internally and externally, including stakeholder communication and regulator interactions.
Lead change program duties as required.
Be regarded as an SME on applicable policies, procedures, risk appetites, and tolerances.
Consider current and potential risks in business decisions.
Ensure timely escalation and recording of risk-related incidents.
Perform regular risk and control assessments.
Complete required Risk Management training.
