Job Description

Cedar are supporting a Public Sector client based in Nottinghamshire who are looking to hire a Deputy Head of Procurement. This is a permanent job opportunity that is offering a salary ranged from £57,000 up to £65,000 per annum plus a range of benefits which include a Local Government Pension. This role will operate on a hybrid working basis with the expectations to be on-site 2 days per week with the remaining days being worked from home.

Reporting into the Head of Commercial, the successful candidate will manage a small team to provide strategic direction and leadership across all procurement activity with the aim to continually ensure value for money and compliance with Public Sector Procurement Regulations (PA23). This role will see you being hands on supporting complex procurements as well as managing/coordinating and motivating those that report into you as part of this role. As Deputy Head of Procurement, you will be the go to in the organisation to help assist key stakeholders on best approach, procurement law and policy.

Candidates applying MUST HAVE:
  • experience working a similar role in the UK Public Sector Procurement marketplace - experience working at a similar level is not required but would be advantageous, candidates who are looking to take their next step into a more senior role in their Public Sector Procurement careers are encouraged to apply
  • strong understanding of Public Sector Procurement Regulations i.e. understanding of PCR2015 and hands on experience/knowledge of PA23
  • experience working in a Category Management structure and/or creating Category Strategies would be advantageous
  • qualified to MCIPS level would be advantageous
