Job Description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Deputy Finance Business Partner for a well-established client in the Swindon area this is a fantastic opportunity if you are looking to work for an amazing organisation that offers a great number of benefits.

Duration: 12 months Fixed Term Contract

Location: Swindon - Hybrid Working

To assist the Finance Business Partnering team in the provision of financial support and advice to our customers.

Duties will include:

  • Assist with the budgeting processes and all budget related activity, movement, profiling and transfers to and from cost centre/subjective codes.
  • Liaise with cost centre managers and Finance Business Partners in preparing and monitoring annual and monthly budgets and forecasts.
  • Support the Finance Business Partners and Senior Finance Business Partner in the provision of financial analysis, review and challenge of groups' plans and provision of advice, support and solutions to identified issues.
  • Maintain and administer the chart of account process and cost centre structure for all customers. Monitor requests and provide relevant customer service.
  • Prepare required journal postings (including prepayments and accruals), understanding charges applied to cost centres, correcting when necessary.
  • Assist Finance Business Partners with and distribute financial information (including, but not limited to, operating statements) on a regular and ad hoc basis.
  • Maintain the write off register as well as conducting system and budget reconciliations as required.
  • Upload of DCMS ALB Returns.
  • To collect, input and analyse data relating to the government sustainability project.

Person Specification:

  • A high level of numerical and verbal reasoning
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Adopts an organised and methodical approach
  • Sound numeracy with the ability to prepare, analyse and manage methodically large amounts of data
  • Confidence in communicating financial information to budget holders accurately and concisely
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Intermediate-level Microsoft Office user
  • Proficiency in using financial accounting systems
