Job Description
Position Summary 
The Deputy Director, Mental Health plays a key leadership role in supporting the strategic, clinical, and operational oversight of the organization's mental health programs. This position works closely with the Director, Mental Health, to ensure high-quality service delivery, regulatory compliance, and program growth. The Deputy Director is also responsible for contributing to business development efforts, including proposal development, partnership cultivation, and identifying new funding or service expansion opportunities (30% Level of Effort). This work will be a collaborative effort with other Directors and the CEO.
Key Responsibilities Program Leadership & Strategy- Support the Director in implementing strategic plans, program initiatives, and organizational priorities.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of assigned mental health programs to ensure quality, efficiency, and mission alignment.
- Lead program performance monitoring, data-driven decision-making, and continuous quality improvement activities.
- Serve as acting Director in the Director's absence.
- Ensure all programs meet clinical, legal, and accreditation standards.
- Provide guidance to supervisors and mental health staff on best practices, workflow optimization, and service delivery models.
- Monitor caseloads, program outcomes, client satisfaction, and compliance metrics.
- Collaborate with administrative teams on budgeting, staffing, and operational processes.
- Represent programs at internal and external meetings, community forums, and professional events.
- Maintain positive relationships with funders, referral partners, government agencies, and community organizations.
- Support cross-departmental collaboration and integrated service models.
- Identify growth opportunities, emerging community needs, and potential service expansions.
- Collaborate with the Director and Development on funding strategies.
- Contribute to proposal writing, budget development, and contract renewals.
- Participate in partner cultivation, outreach, and relationship-building activities to support program sustainability.
- Monitor the competitive landscape and recommend strategic direction for business development initiatives.
- Work closely with the CEO and Director of Commercial Practice on special initiatives including AI for health, strategy development and private sector management consulting
- Support preparation of reports for funders, regulatory bodies, and internal leadership.
- Assist in audit preparation and regulatory reviews.
- Ensure adherence to privacy, confidentiality, and ethical standards.

Qualifications- Master's degree in social work, Psychology, Counseling, Public Health, Public Administration, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in health services.
- Demonstrated success in clinical program oversight, quality improvement, and staff leadership.
- Experience with proposal development or business development is strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
