We are looking for a Full-Time Delivery Lead for a 6-month temporary assignment, working for a leading institution, based on the outskirts of Cambridge City Centre.
As the Delivery Lead, you will play a pivotal role in resource planning, risk management, and service delivery, ensuring that the organisation's infrastructure remains resilient, responsive, and aligned with long-term strategic goals. The role also contributes to digital transformation initiatives, integrating smart technologies and data-driven decision-making to enhance operational intelligence and sustainability.
This position requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic foresight, and people leadership, with a strong emphasis on stakeholder engagement, continuous improvement, and fostering a culture of excellence and innovation across all operational domains.
PLEASE NOTE:
The successful applicant will be expected to attend the office every day (no hybrid working available). You will also need a full Driving Licence valid to drive in the UK.
Leadership & Oversight- Directs multidisciplinary teams, providing strategic guidance and fostering a culture of collaboration and operational excellence.
- Develops succession plans and workforce strategies to support long-term sustainability and resilience in critical operations, ensuring that operational teams are not only technically proficient but also supported in their professional and personal development.
- Assess responsibilities related to supporting staff well-being, addressing concerns, and fostering a positive work environment. Including mentoring, conflict resolution, and ensuring a supportive workplace culture.
- Formulates and implements operational strategies that align with organisational objectives, optimising efficiency, service delivery, and future-proofing critical systems.
- Supports digital transformation initiatives, integrating smart technologies to streamline processes and improve operational intelligence.
- Leads innovation within mechanical, electrical, and building management systems, incorporating emerging technologies and best practices to enhance sustainability and performance.
- Oversees the maintenance, repair, and optimisation of mechanical, electrical, and control systems, ensuring reliability and peak performance.
- Implements system-wide improvements, addressing inefficiencies, technical risks, and lifecycle management challenges.
- Provides expert insights on the development of new infrastructure projects, major refurbishments, and expansions.
- Upholds adherence to industry regulations, statutory requirements, and company policies, embedding a robust compliance culture within operational teams.
- Engages with external regulatory bodies, auditors, and governance structures to support accreditation and legal compliance.
- Leads risk assessments and mitigation strategies, addressing vulnerabilities in infrastructure, processes, and crisis preparedness.
- Spearheads financial planning within operational services, ensuring effective resource utilisation, cost control, and long term investment strategies.
- Enhances asset management protocols, optimising lifecycle costs and sustainability initiatives across facilities.
- Strengthens procurement strategies, managing vendor relations and service contracts to uphold quality and financial efficiency.
- Partners with departments, research teams, and senior leadership to align operational strategies with broader institutional goals.
- Communicates operational insights and strategic recommendations to governance boards, contributing to high level decision-making.
- Establishes strong relationships with external contractors, service providers, and industry experts to leverage best practices and expertise.
- Develops robust performance metrics, ensuring service excellence and accountability across all operational areas.
- Leads audit initiatives, measuring operational effectiveness and identifying opportunities for innovation.
- Directs emergency preparedness efforts, ensuring rapid and effective responses to incidents impacting infrastructure and operations.
- Co ordinates business continuity strategies, minimising disruption and safeguarding assets.
- Oversees critical incident investigations, implementing corrective measures and ensuring lessons learned inform future planning.
- Significant senior leadership experience in asset management with large and complex estates, managing a variety of teams and stakeholders
- Familiarity with CAFM (Computer Aided Facilities Management) systems or other asset management software
- Experience in setting and monitoring KPIs and SLAs for operational performance
- Track record of planning and managing built asset maintenance activities
- Experience in developing and implementing asset management policies, processes, and systems
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with operational staff, senior managers, external agencies and central support services at all levels
- Ability to lead and work within a team, plan and manage work activities, communicate and prioritise workloads, using initiative but also with a consultative approach

- Degree level/Level 6 vocational qualifications or equivalent level of practical experience
