Job Description

Position Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Deep Brain Stimulation and Movement Disorder Team, based in the Institute of Neurological Sciences, Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. The post will support the clinical team in the operation of outpatient clinics, inpatient management and a telephone helpline to support patients in the management of their movement disorder. It will have exposure to patients undergoing Deep Brain Stimulation, and the nurse will assist and develop treatment plans to that effect.

Responsibilities

Support the clinical team in outpatient clinics and inpatient management; manage the telephone helpline for patients with movement disorders; assist with the planning and delivery of Deep Brain Stimulation treatment; develop and implement treatment plans; collaborate with multidisciplinary team members; maintain accurate patient records.

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants with experience in movement disorder and advanced neurological conditions are welcome. This post is advertised as a Band 7 position, however if interested applicants do not meet all criteria the post will also be available as a B7 Annexe 21 until the required competencies are met.

Pay and Working Hours

As from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
