Leading the Development of High-Quality Day Services

Drumlin House is recruiting two Day Services Managers as part of an exciting phase of service development and organisational growth. This is a significant leadership opportunity for experienced professionals to shape high-quality, person-centred day services for adults with intellectual disabilities and autism.
The successful candidates will provide operational and people management across assigned services, ensuring safe, effective, and outcome-focused supports delivered in line with HSE New Directions, safeguarding requirements, organisational policies, and best practice standards.

About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Day Services, the Day Services Manager will oversee the operational delivery of assigned programmes and supports. The role is responsible for ensuring services are safe, responsive, and aligned with individual needs and aspirations, while driving continuous improvement and strong quality outcomes. This is a day service role with structured daytime hours and no shift work requirement.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Service Management
Provide operational leadership and people management across day services, including supervision of staff teams, oversight of daily programmes, and management of resources and rostering. The role supports staff development, performance management, and service improvement to ensure high-quality delivery.

Person-Centred Practice
Ensure services are delivered in line with person-centred principles and HSE policy and directives.

Quality, Governance & Compliance
Maintain compliance with safeguarding, GDPR, health and safety, and organisational policies. Oversee compliance reviews, risk management, incident reporting, and quality assurance systems, ensuring services are inspection-ready and continuously improving.

Communication & Collaboration
Work collaboratively with service users, families, advocates, multidisciplinary teams, and external agencies. Promote effective communication and contribute to service development and organisational improvement.

Essential Requirements
Applicants must hold a relevant third-level qualification (minimum QQI Level 7 or equivalent) in Social Care, Disability Studies, Health & Social Care, or a related discipline. Candidates must have experience in a management or senior supervisory role within disability, healthcare, or social care services.
Candidates without the required qualification may be considered where substantial relevant experience and demonstrated competencies are evident. Essential competencies include: Strong knowledge of person-centred planning, safeguarding, and risk management Experience leading and developing staff teams Understanding of HSE New Directions and compliance frameworks Strong organisational, communication, IT, and reporting skills Full clean driving licence Garda vetting applies

Desirable Experience
Leadership or management training Experience with HSE New Directions and active support approaches Experience in audits, inspections, or quality systems Experience with complex support needs or multidisciplinary teams Training in safeguarding or behaviour support
