Job Description

The Analyst - Data Centre Operations will assist in the deployment, operation, and management of the customers in its centres. Reporting to the Manager - Data Centre Operations, this role primarily includes managing whitespace, colocation, and managed customer racks, data cabling, power management, hardware installation, circuit installations, media handling, and fulfilling tasks for our customers on the data centre floor as needed.

Please note - a full clean UK driving license is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide operational support to all customers based at Redcentric Sites, including verbal, written, and face-to-face communication with customer employees.
  • Manage maintenance and update records using prescribed systems such as Ticketing System, Capacity and Tracking Systems, Online Tools, and Databases.
  • Perform work for or on behalf of the company or its customers, including audits (site and rack), cabling, cross connects, decommissioning, tape rotation, etc.
  • Maintain the physical hosting infrastructure, including racks, patch panels, data and power trays, data cabling, cross connects, and Telco Carrier space.
  • Assist the Site Manager in maintaining the site's appearance and functionality, including cleanliness, rubbish removal, deliveries, and supporting mechanical and electrical functions.
  • Communicate with customers to manage support and setup of their specific requirements and assist relevant internal teams as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, maintaining a professional and collegiate manner in line with company values.
  • Provide Service Desk support by managing calls, emails, and other communications from customers.

Qualifications and Professional Membership
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) - Desirable
  • Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT) or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) - Desirable
  • ITIL V3 - Desirable
Technical Competencies
  • Minimum one year experience in a similar role, such as in Business Continuity or Managed Services environment - Essential
  • Experience handling and storing customer data - Essential
  • Understanding of data cabling installation, management, and patching - Essential
  • Experience with ticketing systems - Essential
  • Understanding of IT systems - Essential
  • Rack installation - Desirable
