Job Description

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Serviceare looking for an experienced and enthusiasticData Team Manager to join our Fire Control Team. You will join us on afull timebasis working42 hours per week, on afixed term contract for12 months.

This role is available on Grey Book Control terms and conditions, working the Day Duty System and you will receive a competitive salary at Watch Manager Development rate of£40,538 (gross) per annum. The role is based at ourService Headquarters inExeter.

Key responsibilities of the Data Team Manager Role:

  • Develop and manage the Control mobilising system t meet the requirements of the Service.
  • To implement improved arrangements for the recording of information within Fire Control Service systems relating to premises which present an unusually high risk in the context of operational response.
  • Ensure all the data held by Fire Control is compliant with the General Data Protection Regulations and to establish processes and procedures to maintain compliance.
  • Assist the Fire Control Management team in developing and managing effective resilience procedures for all critical systems.
  • Collate information from a range of sources to support investigations, respond to Freedom of Information requests and assist with the production of statistical information and proactively provide information and advice.
  • Review and optimise current system data.
  • Provide technical support to assist with the development and delivery of improved availability and mobilising to maximise the effective use of resources.
  • Provide technical support to assist with the Operational Alignment, compliance with National Operational Guidance, and organisational change within DSFRS and the NFSP.
