On behalf of Deutsche Bank, we are looking for a Data Sustainability Project Manager for a 6 month contract based in London.

Job description - the role

Purpose of the role:
The Project Manager will sit within the Sustainability Technology Project Management team and will be responsible for working closely with various group divisions to deliver complex end-to-end product & solution implementations related to the sourcing, modelling, analysis and visualisation of Sustainability data.

The Project Manager will:

  • Hold responsibility for project initiation, project scope & objective definition, roadmap and detailed end-to-end project plan creation and alignment with key stakeholders.
  • Lead project implementations through requirements gathering, planning, execution and delivery.
  • Assemble, co-ordinate and lead project teams including product owners and engineers to deliver project objectives to agreed cost, quality and schedule boundaries, fostering a collaborative culture.
  • Define, baseline, monitor and control milestones, dependencies and risks/issue across projects, incl. creation of status reports, RAID logs, change control process & benefit plans. Proactively identify potential risks/issues and mitigation strategies.
  • Set up and lead project working groups and operating committees to monitor and control progress to plan, report updates to stakeholders and adjusting as needed to keep the project aligned with its goals.
  • Ensure key project artefacts and processes are in place including scope, charter, BRDs, stakeholder register, requirements traceability, project plans, project closure documents and retrospectives.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather information, ensure that required activities are captured in the plans and completed.
  • Provide guidance to the project team to ensure that Environmental, Social and Governance reporting initiatives and implementation projects are kept in alignment with the wider Environmental, Social and Governance initiatives of the Bank.

Candidate Profile: Key accountabilities, skills & experience required

  • 10+ years project management experience within Banking across the full project life cycle.
  • Experience initiating and leading banking system implementations from requirements gathering, solution definition through to data sourcing, development, testing and go live.
  • Experience preparing for, leading, chairing and presenting in project working groups, operating committees and other meetings with senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to deliver the highest level of quality even under time pressure, combined with strong analytical, conceptual problem-solving skills and excellent conflict resolution skills.
  • Able to work across multiple priorities and adapt to changing needs.
  • Experience of leading, coaching and managing business stakeholder relationships and project teams, with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to create project artefacts and presentation materials tailored to the target audience, with attention to detail and strong instinct as to the standards required.
  • Strong interest in Environmental, Social and Governance/sustainability an advantage.
  • Ability to work in virtual teams and in Matrix organisations.
  • Strong analytical skills & structured approach to problem solving.
  • Keen to adapt, develop & grow with a learning and personal growth mind-set.
  • Strong academic background with PMI, Prince 2 or relevant equivalent project related qualification.
