SC Cleared Data Scientist (Contract)

Role Overview

We're seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist with active SC clearance to join a dynamic team delivering cutting-edge data solutions across the public sector. This is a remote-first role, ideal for someone with deep technical expertise and a passion for solving complex problems using modern cloud and AI technologies.

You ' ll be working on high-impact projects involving large-scale data processing, predictive modelling, and the integration of Large Language Models (LLMs) into analytical workflows. Experience with Azure cloud services, Python, and Machine Learning Studio is essential to hit the ground running.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models using Azure Machine Learning Studio
  • Build scalable data pipelines and manage datasets using Azure Blob Storage
  • Apply advanced Python techniques for data wrangling, modelling, and automation
  • Integrate and fine-tune LLMs for specific use cases, including classification, summarisation, and generative tasks
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into data-driven solutions
  • Ensure data security and compliance within SC-cleared environments

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Active SC Clearance (must be in place prior to start)
  • Expert-level Python programming skills
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Cloud, including Machine Learning Studio and Blob Storage
  • Proven track record of building and deploying machine learning models
  • Experience working with or integrating Large Language Models (LLMs)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting

Desirable

  • Experience in public sector or government projects
  • Familiarity with MLOps practices and tools
  • Knowledge of data governance and ethical AI principles
