Job Description

We are seeking a highly analytical and technically skilled Data Scientist with a mix of data science, analytical skills, strategic thinking, and a passion for languages. This role is execution-focused, ideal for individuals who are proficient in statistical analysis and enjoy transforming complex datasets into clear, objective insights.

Responsibilities

• Apply and refine statistical methods to measure translation quality, ensuring the validity and reliability of evaluation results.
• Perform deep-dive analysis using SQL to identify error patterns, track KPIs, and extract actionable insights from large, complex datasets.
• Create data sampling strategies to build representative test sets that cover diverse content types and languages.
• Experiment with different analytical methodologies to uncover underlying patterns in data and help automate processes for quality evaluation.
• Translate analytical findings into concise reports and dashboards, presenting data-backed recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of professional experience as a Data Scientist with a focus on statistical analysis, data mining, and experimentation.
• Strong proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating complex datasets.
• Proficiency in a data science programming language, data visualization tools, SQL, and Excel.
• Solid understanding of core statistical concepts, including hypothesis testing and statistical significance.
• Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.
• A proactive and independent work ethic, with the ability to drive projects to completion within a defined scope.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Direct experience analysing human-labeled data or running evaluation programs for AI models.
• Familiarity with localization concepts, terminology, and quality metrics.
• Working proficiency in a language other than English.

Work Environment

This role is remote and flexible across various time zones, including 8am - 4pm USA Eastern Time (ET), 2:30pm - 10:30pm India Hyderabad (IST), and 11:00am - 7:00pm EMEA (CEST).
