Job Purpose:
We are seeking a business-savvy and technically skilled Data Scientist to join our analytics team. As a seasoned professional, you will be responsible for developing and deploying machine learning models that influence business strategy, enhance marketing effectiveness, and drive operational optimization. This role requires a strong understanding of data science techniques, wider department goals, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver impactful analytical solutions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Advanced Analytics and Modeling
- Design and implement predictive models for key outcomes like conversion propensity and lead scoring
- Apply machine learning techniques including classification, regression, clustering, and recommendation systems
- Develop and validate statistical models to identify patterns and trends in complex datasets
- Evaluate and implement appropriate algorithms based on business requirements and data characteristics
- Monitor and refine models in production to ensure sustained performance
2. Data Management and Preparation
- Work with Data Engineers to prepare clean, reliable datasets for analysis and modeling
- Implement data quality checks and validation procedures
- Perform feature engineering to optimize model performance
- Develop efficient data processing pipelines for model training and deployment
- Document data transformations and analytical methodologies
3. Cross-functional Collaboration
- Collaborate across marketing, sales, operations, and product teams to solve business problems using data science
- Translate business questions into analytical frameworks and approaches
- Build productive relationships with stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements
- Provide data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making
- Model organizational values and lead by example for more junior team members
4. Insight Communication and Visualization
- Build clear visualizations and communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Present complex analytical results in accessible and actionable formats
- Develop dashboards and reports to track model performance and business impact
- Create compelling narratives around data insights to drive organizational change
- Document methodologies and findings for knowledge sharing
5. Continuous Improvement and Innovation
- Research and implement new data science techniques and technologies
- Actively seek feedback and conduct retrospectives to improve analytical approaches
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance technical skills
- Contribute to the development of best practices and standards
- Mentor junior analysts in data science methodologies and techniques
Perform all other duties as assigned to meet team's objectives and ensure business operational efficiency.
Qualifications- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in data science or machine learning role
- Proficiency in Python (pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, etc.) and SQL
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred) and ML tools
- Strong understanding of machine learning concepts and model evaluation techniques
- Ability to communicate complex insights in an accessible and impactful way
- Experience working with cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven solutions
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and creative thinking
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Knowledge of data visualization tools and techniques
